Angelina Jolie is engaged to be married to Brad Pitt. But there's a problem - the mother-in-law's political views. Recently, Mrs Jane Pitt wrote in a newspaper to endorse Mitt Romney over his opposition to same-sex marriage amongst other issues. Angelina Jolie, a big supporter of gay rights, is now reported to be 'mortified' according to Perez Hilton.
But I guess everyone has to deal with family. I am also a strong advocate for all sorts of gay rights, and I know that most of my family are not with me on this. There is no need to be 'mortified' about family members who don't agree with you, because that's just everyday life!
The best thing to do would be to open up a discussion on the matter, but often it may be better for family harmony to just ignore our differences. This is what I had to do with large sections of my family regarding this issue. Unfortunately.
