Summer is, by far, my favorite time of year—long days, warm nights, and flip-flops. No matter how young or old you are, it's so important to be safe in the sun.  Here's a few tips I like to practice to make sure my summer days are nothing but enjoyable:

  • Let's be honest, if it's a nice day, no one's staying inside from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. when the sun is the strongest. That's why we have sunblock. Grab yourself an SPF over 30 and reapply, reapply, reapply!
  • Would a nice day be less nice if you couldn't see it? Yes. Protect your eyes—you only get one pair.  Pick up a pair of sunglasses that protect your eyes from 99 to 100-percent of UVA and UVB radiation. Here, I'll even help you start your search for a new pair just click here!
  •  Thanks to celebrities like Angelina Jolie, large sun hats are totally in style. So if you're heading outside, don't forget a nice wide-brimmed hat. And fellas, a baseball cap works, but don't forget to put sunblock on your neck and ears.
  • Trying to figure out what to wear? Dark colors protect your skin better than light colors. Polyester is better than cotton and choose tighter woven clothing for better protection as well.
